תְּאֵנָה, תְּאֵי׳f. (b. h.) 1) fig-tree; fig. Cant. R. to VI, 2 הת׳ הזו … יפה לה ויפה לת׳ when the fig-tree is plucked in due time, it is good for it and good for the fig; Gen. R. s. 62; Koh. R. to V, 11. Ib.; Y.Ber.II, 5c top בעל הת׳ יוֹדעוכ׳ the owner of the fig-tree knows when it is time to pluck it (God knows when it is time to call the righteous away). Gen.
